History of "Chis & Sid"

In 1967 a handful of people in the Chislehurst and Mottingham area had the idea, and the offer of a piece of land, to build a block of flats to meet the need for housing for older people. A housing association was set up and registered as a charity with the name Chislehurst and Mottingham Housing Association. In 1969, the first 23 tenants moved in and the organisation has been providing affordable homes and support to people ever since.

In 1989, the association merged with Sidcup Housing Association and was renamed Chislehurst and Sidcup Housing Association. CSHA has a subsidiary called Ursula Lodges Trust which also enjoys charitable status.
