How We Are Run

As a Registered Society operating under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, the Association is regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing, and we maintain charitable objectives.

We are run by an unpaid Board made up of voluntary members consisting of dedicated professionals and tenants who meet every three months to oversee the performance of the Association.

The Board’s essential functions can be summarised as follows:

  • Setting and measuring compliance with the Association’s strategic objectives, values and to ensure its long term success.
  • Acting effectively making clear decisions based on timely accurate information
  • Setting a positive culture, with strong customer focus
  • Setting and agreeing the budget, business plan and integrity of financial information.
  • Ensuring that the Association’s affairs are conducted lawfully.

Patsy Alexander

Chair of Audit and Risk Committee

Qualified Accountant and member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounts. Senior Manager in the Financial Services industry

Michelle Mansfield

Experience in housing including marketing and PR as well as senior leadership roles in operations, including complaints, business improvement and allocations.

Carli Harper-Penman

Member of Audit and Risk Committee

Strategy & communication expert with significant social housing experience. Partner with Inflect Partners, a strategic communications & business transformation consultancy

Bruce Shelmerdine

Member of Audit and Risk Committee

Qualified Chartered Account & Finance Director of mhs homes. Has extensive experience working in the housing sector with a number of registered social landlords

Mark Hanson

Chair of Development Committee

Development consultant & former Development Director with almost fifty years’ experience of developing and constructing homes. Has a strong interest in zero energy homes and renewables.

Jane Campbell

Member of Development Committee

Trained Solicitor, now the Director of Legal Services with Optivo. Experience working in Local Authorities and private practice specialising in Social Housing

Cathy Peters

Chair of the Tenant Engagement & Scrutiny Panel. A former Sheltered Housing Manager with CSHA

Jean Alexander

Experience in care sector management and business viability. Member of CSHA Tenant Engagement & Scrutiny Panel.

Julian Miles

Has worked with a wide range of housing providers for over 23 years undertaking a variety of senior and strategic roles.
