How to Join Our Community

There are two ways to apply for over 60s housing with Chislehurst and Sidcup Housing Association:

Over 60s housing

Nominations from the Council

We accept nominations from housing departments of the London boroughs of Bromley, Bexley and Lewisham local authorities (councils), if you meet their criteria. You must also meet the criteria listed below, the same as if you had applied to us directly.

Direct Applications

Alternatively, we hold our own waiting list and can consider applications directly from members of the public who meet our eligibility criteria. Suitable applicants must:

  • Be aged 60 years or over (both applicants if a joint application),
  • Be living, or be working, in the boroughs of Bromley, Bexley, Lewisham, Greenwich, Dartford or West Kent (Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Malling and Tunbridge Wells) for at least the last two years continually. These are our operating boroughs, where we have our properties.
  • Not have household income (including benefits) and capital (such as savings, property in the UK and abroad, lump-sums/one-off payments such as statutory redundancy payments and inheritances) totalling in excess of £50,000
  • Be able to live independently, including evacuating independently in an emergency
  • Demonstrate a satisfactory tenancy history, including not being in tenant arrears
  • Be willing to rehouse animals as no pets are permitted in our properties
