Promoting Health & Wellbeing
Wellbeing includes how we are faring in all aspects of life, such as physical and mental health, financial, social and in terms of our local environment.

The Association has a responsibility to meet various consumer standards set by the Regulator of Social Housing, including that we must:
“Co-operate with relevant partners to promote social, environmental and economic wellbeing in the areas where they provide social housing” (Neighbourhood and Community Standard).
“Communicate with tenants and provide information so tenants can use landlord services, understand what to expect from their landlord, and hold their landlord to account” (Transparency, Influence and Accountability Standard).
We meet these standards and promote wellbeing by:
- Identifying tenant support needs to maintain independent living, meet aspirations and prevent and manage risk as part of the support planning service
- Promoting access to, and signposting to, other services. This includes publicising the resources available to tenants
- Using communal facilities and other resources to prevent social isolation, and encouraging tenant input into the range of activities that take place
- In consultation with tenants, exploring and implementing a range of initiatives to order to promote and maintain the wellbeing of our tenants, e.g. arranging talks/events, facilitating and identifying discounts and home services and using our framework for intergenerational outreach
- Building strong links with community organisations and health services to ensure our tenants have access to a range and variety of local opportunities
- Working with our tenants to understand how to promote wellbeing and develop the tools used
- Providing staff with the tools to support tenants with the cost of living, e.g. benefits training in order to be able to support tenants in maximising their income, circulate helpful information, and to make appropriate referrals to other agencies
- Reducing costs to tenants through improving energy efficiency in communal areas.
